Welcome

First Steps Community Playgroup has played a prominent role in nurturing the children within Exeter since it was first established over 40 years ago. 

Our first setting was based in St James' Church Hall and due to the expansion of enrolment of our children, we moved to our new site in 1999 and extended our service hours. In 2002 we moved to our present site and in 2007 we were able to offer lunch and breakfast facilities. 

In 2023 we fundraised for twelve years for a replacement building on our current site. We are able to enrol children from all over Exeter as we are not limited by catchment areas.

We are a charitable organisation and are managed by our parent committee. Our committee do lots of fundraising throughout the year and the money raised is put towards enhancing the Playgroup facilities and equipment for our children.
