Marching Band Showcase
Tuesday, October 7, 2025 @ 7:00 PM FHPS's marching bands (Hawks, Huskies, Rangers) will each be performing their halftime show. Sixth grade students are to check in with Ms. Benjamin to earn credit for attending this event.
* Participating in concerts - Performing is quite fun! After all the practice, the band shares the wonderful music with an audience. This is a very rewarding experience for the students! Concerts are curricular events, so all students are to attend. KEEP YOUR COACHES, DANCE INSTRUCTORS, ETC, INFORMED OF YOUR BAND CONCERTS. DO THIS IN ADVANCE, SO THEY CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Participating in band concerts with all of the classes coming together as one band is a significant part of the ensemble experience. Missing the concert can lower the student's grade. Students who miss the concert will be given an alternative assignment.
* Concert Etiquette- Be respectful to everyone in the auditorium by listening to the music, watching the performers, & staying quiet. The concert attire is chosen to focus the audience's attention on the music, not on the performers. Pants are to be a solid dark color, such as black or dark gray, and worn to the ankle. Skirts and dresses are to end lower than the knee when you sit. If your skirt is shorter than your knees when you sit, then you are to wear leggings under your skirt. Shirts with sleeves are to be worn. Athletic clothing (t-shirts, is not acceptably worn to a concert and should not be worn on stage. The concert is the culmination of all of the hard work and practice to learn the music. As the music has much effort put into it with all the musical instruments' music aligning together, a musician's dress code does the same. The concert attire on stage is uniform (dress nicely) to focus the attention on the music. In addition, a dress code shows a sense of belonging to the ensemble and a sense of pride for the hard work & effort put into the music. As to align with school code of 'younger longer', tank tops & spaghetti tops are to have a shirt over top; no bare midriffs, sides, or backs are showing; no halter or low cut tops; no writing of words on clothing.
