Hey there! My name is Amanda Sullivan and I am a fourth grade teacher at Washington Franklin Elementary School. I am thankful to have, what I believe as, the best job in the world. I love coming to work every day.
I grew up in Farmington and attended school there my entire life. After high school I attended Mineral Area College and Central Methodist University where I received my degree in Elementary Education.
Family is the most important part of my life. I have an amazing husband who works in real-estate, a son who loves animals, a strong-willed daughter who loves fashion, and a princess daughter who lives in a magical kingdom every day. I love to work and create fun activities to do in my classroom. When I'm not hanging out with my family or creating fun activities I love to shop, eat chocolate and drink diet pepsi!
I once heard the following quote, "To be inspired is great, to inspire is incredible." I often look back at the ways in which people have inspired me and the values that were instilled in me as a kid by my elementary school teachers, and once I realized the impact that a person can make on another life, I wanted to make sure that I offered that to my students. I became a teacher in hopes of affecting students by inspiring and teaching values as well as knowledge.
My beliefs on teaching are simple - If you instill success, they will be successful! I believe that if someone is willing to learn or grow and they believe they "can do it" then they will accomplish, grow, and succeed. It is my philosophy that the greater the impact we have on students while they are young the more successful they will be the rest of their lives. It is my mission to instill success in every one of my students.
