Meet the Coaches

Kennedy is going into her third year coaching the Fargo North Spartacas and sixth year coaching dance in the state of ND. She is beyond excited to help grow this program and carry on the legacy coaches and dancers have left!

She is originally from Bismarck, North Dakota where she started her dance career at Just for Kix – Bismarck North at the age of 4. After dancing with Just for Kix for eight years, she advanced to the Wachter Middle School Danzadors. She became a member of the Bismarck High Demonettes for the 2013-2014 season, making the junior varsity team as a ninth grader. She was a choreographer for Pom, Jazz and High Kick that season.

During the 2014-2015 season, making the Varsity Demonettes. That season, her and her team won two state titles, Class A Pom and Hip Hop, and a regional title in varsity Hip Hop at the Spirit of America Championship. She was part of the Varsity Demonettes for both the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 team until graduating in 2017. 

After graduation, she continued to be involved in the dance community, working with the Mandan High School Kachinas during the 2017-2018 season on choreography. 

In 2018, she decided to take on the role of Head Coach for a high school drill team. In her first season, the team received second place in the Small Varsity Class A Jazz division. During the 2019-2020 season, the team received 2nd place in both Class A Small Varsity Pom and High Kick, and the Class A Small Varsity Jazz CHAMPIONS, with Coach Kennedy being nominated for the 2020 NDADD Coach of the Year. In the 2020-2021 season, the team received 2nd place in Class A Small Varsity Pom, 4th place in Class A High Kick (for the first time since 2010), and the team was BACK-TO-BACK Class A Small Varsity Jazz CHAMPIONS. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic the team progressed and reached their goals. 

During the 2021-2022, although not actively coaching, Kennedy continued to work with multiple teams on choreography and ensuring they were competition ready throughout the state including: the Northern Cass Rosettes, Carrington Cardinares, Century Centanahs JV and Varsity, Legacy Saberettes Varsity, and Jamestown Sophistikix JV. 

Sydney is going into her fourth year coaching the Fargo North Spartacas.  She is also a member of the MSUM Dragon Dance Team while also assisting dancers in her hometown with choreography and advancing their skills. Sydney continues to bring her expertise and amazing ideas to our team. We are so lucky to have her!
