An argument essay is an essay where you make a decision about a subject and prove it with facts.

A good topic is one where you can make a decision about an issue. Some people should agree with your decision and some people may not agree with your decision. You have to convince them that your decision is a good one.

B. It is a good idea to make a PRO/CON chart to see the different sides of a topic. If you can make a pro/con chart about a topic, then it is a good topic! A pro/con chart lets you see the different reasons for each side of an issue. If you have a lot of reasons to support your decision, then you will be able to write a good argumentative essay.
A thesis statement is a sentence that takes a side on a topic. It will be the "MAIN IDEA" of the essay.
Then answer the questions on your information packet. Remember you use the school's username and password to log in.
B. From Slide # 1, write down the ingredients of a good thesis statement in your information packet.
