Final Design
The *Golf Cart Mister* system uses rotational molding techniques to mass-produce the water tank enclosure and misting fan shell casing. The design consists of an adjustable bar to fit the size of any golf cart, as well as interchangeable mounting brackets that will be fit to size for various golf cart uprights. The misters and fan are installed into a shell casing that is supported by a goose-neck structure. All electronics, such as the voltage converter, pump, and accumulator are installed within a locked housing. *The mounting brackets are manufactured from steel and can be replaced to match the model of the open air vehicles' sunroof support.*
Performance Summary
The crucial components of this final design consist of the pump, accumulator, mister heads, and the voltage converter. Power is drawn from the golf cart into a Siweite 48V to 12V converter and the resulting 12V power the fans and pump. The pump used is a Seaflo 21-Series Diaphragm pump rated at a max of 689.476 kPa (100 psi) which pumps the water into a Shurflo accumulator tank. This accumulator pressurizes the water and allows for longevity of the pump, since the pump does not run continuously. The mister heads were chosen to be Hago B37 mister heads, since these allow for very fine mist while also having a very low flow rate of around 1.968 lph (0.52 gph) at 552 kPa (80 psi).
