Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Currently working on projection method, this was done by creating a test image on cylindrical surface
Comparing the current back light LEDs to the ones bought to see if they will have a higher intensity.
Continuing to research and design a PCB which will be used as a new back light.
Code is being changed to implement ellipse fit on forced points, input hinges and ellipse width
Beginning to work on VR to implement image analysis to perceived VR
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Received the spherical display structure and the fillers for the IR laser. We will be able to begin testing with the laser as a back light once the filters arrive.
Tested the IR laser as back light with the filters.
Completed initial testing for projection onto cylinder
Code now takes in wing hinge inputs, ellipse fit over raw image (instead of background subtracted) for comparison
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish projecting the virtual reality onto the sphere by the end of next week. (James & Dean)
Incorporate the virtual reality into the code to create feedback control. (Randy)
Generate plot of angles vs. frame to show our hypothesis of synchronous wing flapping
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
At the last meeting the sponsor said that he was happy with our progress and we were on track with the project. He suggested contacting Frank at CalIT to assist the team into looking into designing and fabricating pcb for a new back light. In response we have been looking into the matter and hope to have a one ordered by the beginning of next week.

Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Point Gray USB 3, Flea 3 1280 X 1024 high speed camera. ($600.00)
Macro zoom lens ($1000.00)
Other parts have been ordered. Will update the budget once we have obtained the invoice from our sponsor.
Amount remaining ($3,400.00)
Progress on Report and Webpage
Rearranged the order and combined sections which was suggested on the comments on the team website.
Editing the report to satisfy the requirements for the 2nd draft.
