Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Currently in the process of finalizing the definition of the problem - seeing exactly what a cytometer looks like and is setup to get a better understanding of what can or should change.Â
No tests, analysis, fabrication or tests as of yet, but the design process can begin when we better grasp the dimensions of the cytometer and the mounting area for the microscope/camera
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Get website started (Daniel)
Contact possible BD Laser users from Moores Cancer Center so that we can get a hands on look at the current laser setup (Kevin)
Send sponsor (Paul) our individual jacket sizes for lab coats used in BD labs (all)
Schedule a trip to the BD site (all)
Complete Laser Safety training before our trip to BD (all)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Research on Cameras and Microscopes that could possibly used to solve the problem
Currently looking into cameras from companies such as Thor Labs
Beginning research on lenses and microscope units to possible manufacture our own
Risks and Areas of Concern
By considering building our own microscope, we risk using needed resources (both time and money) into a possibly complicated task that could end up not in the final design
We are still concerned about getting access to a cytometer once we start the design and testing process. It seems Paul (our sponsor) has been working on his end to get use readily available access to a few, but how often and how available is still uncertain.
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Schedule
Complete laser safety training
Meet with Moores Cancer Center professors who have access to cytometer
Hopefully begin the design of our microscope/camera mount
