Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Working on the prototype with a linear actuator from the component room.
Decided on which pedal interface to design.
Complete Pressure Transducer circuit once components come in
Waiting for the arrival of the potentiometer foot pedal.
Selection of maintained push button switch
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Built the circuit for the pressure transducer. Waiting on pending transistors and op-amps in mail.
Built most of the prototype with a linear actuator found in the component room.
Met with sponsor to discuss progress as well as design preference.
Developed the first draft of the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and emailed to our sponsor for verification and revising.
Speed control of DC motor with lead screw using a potentiometer and an arduino
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finishing the working prototype.
Build the spliced pressure transducer circuit and start testing the read-out of pressure from syringes.
Begin building the pedal design.
Program the potentiometer pedal, pending its arrival, to control motor
Program maintained push buttons to control direction of motor as well as light up LED indicators

Action Items
Two weeks from now, a working system yet prototype system should be completed
Contact electronic supply shop in San Diego for pedals
Research system, such as aircraft or automation, design and interfaces using Google Scholar
Talk to sponsor if there needs to be a manual override mechanism so that the syringe can be removed quickly if needed
Perform lead screw analysis to determine motor parameters
General Feedback
Safety must be your top priority
Be careful that there may be a delay in LED lighting up
Regard the use of steppers, fully understand the pros and cons
Avoid using youtube videos of engineering guidance
Work in parallel to identify safety issues

Risks and Areas of Concern
Pedal technology - Research fly-by-wire technology. - Look at possible encoder pedal control vs potentiameter pedal control
FMEA considerations and modifications ( FMEA Table )
Button selection, or if not available to meet our requirements, the creation of a casing for a smaller and easily accessible button
