HOMEWORK POLICY . . .
The fourth grade staff believes homework is important because it helps reinforce what has been learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps students develop positive study habits.
Students are expected to do their best on each assignment. We expect homework to be neat, not sloppy. All written work should be done in pencil
We do allow work time after each assignment given, however, if students do not finish during work or study time they may need to bring work home. All assignments will be written in the assignment notebook each day. The assignments that are circled are homework. This will be brought home each night (please reinforce).
All assignments will be due the next day unless it is specified otherwise. We expect work from the previous day to be completed before the school day begins.
If there is a legitimate reason why a student is unable to finish the assignment, please send a note on the date the homework is due stating the reason it was not completed. This note must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Correcting Homework
If your child receives an 80% or less on an assignment, he/she can choose to CORRECT his/her mistakes and hand it back in. Five points will be taken off his/her new score for having to redo the assignment. This is only fair to the students who received an 80% or higher.
DAILY HOMEWORK REQUIREMENTS
1. Read for 20 minutes each night.
2. Complete any assignments or activities that are circled in their assignment notebook.
