Welcome to Fourth Grade

I am so excited to be your teacher this year. It is going to be an amazing year filled with fun adventures and lots of learning. I am going to love being your science, social studies, and language arts teacher. During the year, we will become lumberjacks, visit Ellis Island, build a seat belt for an egg, become fantastic authors and poets, and much more.

We will also have a student teacher this year. Mr. Kennedy is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and he is really excited to work with you this year.

A little about me: This will be my twenty-third year of teaching fourth grade in Elkhorn, and there is nowhere I would rather be! I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Theatre Education. I earned my Masters degree from National Louis University.

When, I'm not at Tibbets, I enjoy spending time traveling, hiking, camping. reading, watching sports, attending concerts and theater performances, and watching movies with my family and friends.

My wife, Jen, and I are proud parents of Madelyn and Jacob. Maddie, a junior in Elkhorn, is an amazing artist and a member of the soccer team. Jacob, a freshman, is an athletic young man with a beautiful singing voice. Right now, he is a member of the football team and was in our musical, "Peter Pan" last year. My wife, Jen, is a nurse and enjoys being one of the general leaders for our 4-H Club.

I also spend a great deal of time in the high school auditorium, as I am the auditorium manager and technical director for our high school theater productions. Be sure to say hi, if you see me in the auditorium. I love to give fourth graders a tour of the auditorium, if I am not too busy.

I have included some very valuable information in this webpage. Please take the time to look over it carefully. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at 262-742-2585 ext. 1114 or email me at kleije@elkhorn.k12.wi.us.
