Application Process

The application process for the 2023-2024 school year has begun.    Initial eligibility for NHS is based on weighted GPA, which must be 3.75 or greater.  Invitation letters to eligible students were sent out by 9/30/23.   Please note that you must have received an invitation letter in order to apply.   The deadline for submission of application materials is 11:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024.  No late applications will be accepted. 

Applicants must complete the following 4 steps.  Please follow the instructions closely and thoroughly.  Please pay special attention to step #4 and make sure you complete it!

1.) Submit the names of 5 high school teachers from whom a character evaluation will be requested.  You must have had the teacher for at least one semester.  You do not have to check with your teachers before including their name as a reference.  There is no paper form to distribute; teachers will submit evaluations electronically.  Only enter the last name of the teacher; do NOT include "Mr.", "Miss", "Mrs." or "Ms.".  Click the link below and follow the instructions provided.

2.) Submit descriptions of a minimum of 3 Service activities completed.  Descriptions should be brief and succinct; complete sentences are not required.  Click the link below and follow the instructions provided.

3.) Submit descriptions of a minimum of 3 Leadership positions held.  Descriptions should be brief and succinct; complete sentences are not required.  Click the link below and follow the instructions provided.

Leadership

The total number of combined Service activities and Leadership positions must be at least ten (10).

4.)  After steps 1-3 are completed, applicants must print and sign the NHS Agreement attached below and give it to Mr. Farmer.  This will also indicate that you have completed the application process.  Your application process is not complete until you have turned in a signed NHS Agreement!
