Goff Science Olympiad Team at the 2017 State Tournament

Goff Middle School placed fourth at the New York State Science Olympiad Championships in Syracuse on Saturday. Goff students earned medals in 14 events, including gold in Hovercraft (Owen Ball and Nina Tedeschi) and Scrambler (Owen Ball and Zackary Malmberg).

The competition tests students in STEM topics such as astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering and mathematics.Only 40 schools qualified for the state championships out of more than 270 from across New York State. Goff advanced by winning the regional tournament in March for the seventh straight year.
