CMS Nordic skiing is a fortunate to be a combined team with the EPHS Nordic Ski team. Our CMS athletes enjoy all the benefits and responsibilities of participating in a high school sport for six seasons. This greatly enhances and expedites your technique and success in our sport.

Our practice schedule is vastly different from years past as the CMS start time has greatly impacted our Nordic Skiers. SEE PRACTICE SCHEDULE TO RIGHT >>
First year skiers will focus on learning skiing technique (both classic and skate), terminology and work on waxing skills. This is intended to be a learning year for kids.
CMS Nordic racing is only available to 7th and 8th grade athletes, interested 6th graders should email Coach Malone for 6th grade options

1) Nordic ski combi boots for NNN bindings. GREAT DEALS HERE
2) Head lamp - we will be practicing in the dark at the end of practices, so a head lamp is required.

To register for Eden Prairie Nordic Skiing, you need to...
1) Have a sports physical on file with the district. CMS athletes, you will need to schedule a sports physical with your dr ASAP.
2) Register through My Payments Plus.
AND
3) be committed to attending practice 5 days a week. Being a high school sport that we CMSers are fortunate enough to participate in, full commitment is needed.

MON : Evening practices 6:15-7:45 @ Hyland. Bus from EPHS @ 5:45
TUESDAY : RACE @ Hyland OR Elm Creek Regional Parks
All races in December begin at 3:30pm. All races in January begin at 4pm. CMS will have early releases from school and dedicated busses from CMS to the race site. Drop off will be at EPHS.
WEDNESDAY : MORNING PRACTICE 6:15-7:45 @ Hyland. Bus from EPHS @ 5:45
THURSDAY : Run / Strength @ CMS OR ski at Staring Lake Park if natural snow is enough to ski on.
FRIDAY : EPHS Varsity Individual Growth Day . CMS skiers @ Staring Lake Park. Bus from CMS, drop at EPHS.
SATURDAY : practice @ Staring Lake Park.

When purchasing boots, you need a NNN BINDING COMBI BOOT. Any brand will do. Gear West Ski & Run , Boulder Nordic Sport , Hoigaards and Tonka Cycle & Ski are very knowledgeable and offer a team discount.
