Batman: Year One is Frank Miller's 1987 re-imagining of the infamous Batman origin story. Through four chapters (issues), Miller leads the reader through the challenges and achievements of both Bruce Wayne and the man who becomes his closest ally, Detective James Gordon. David Muzzucchelli's artwork adds a depth to the comic that emphasises the corrupt nature of Gotham City and the people who dwell within.
This site provides all the information you need to analyse all four chapters of Batman: Year One, including sample essays and all the terminology you will need to use in the deconstruction process, and is intended as a resource for students and teachers alike!
