¡Hola! ¡Bienvenidos a las clases de Sra. O'Neal. This is currently my third year teaching here at Liberty Magnet High School and I am very much looking forward to working with you this year on learning some Spanish grammar and vocabulary and building up some conversation skills. ¡Buena suerte con sus estudios este año!
Sara O’Neal is a thirty three-year veteran Spanish teacher who began her teaching career in Alexandria, Louisiana. She teaches at Liberty Magnet High School. She instructs students in Spanish II, III, IV, V Honors courses, and Spanish 1101-02, 2101-02 Dual Enrollment college courses. Mrs. O’Neal has served as mentor and adviser for language student teachers.
She earned a Master’s Degree in Spanish from Saint Louis University at the campus in Spain and her bachelor ‘s degree from Louisiana College, in Pineville, Louisiana. In addition, she also holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Lima’s Santolalla Silva University from her native country of Peru. Mrs., O’Neal was honored in 2015, when she was named MSA East-IPSB Teacher of the Year.
In addition to her educational experience, she has coached girl’s high school soccer. She is currently the sponsor of the Spanish Club. For many years, Mrs. O’Neal has prepared students to compete in State Rally competitions and takes pride in the fact that they have always placed 1st 2nd or 3rd. She has a passion for culture and was instrumental in developing Spanish Heritage Awareness Month and the celebration of Foreign Language Week in all her former schools. She has also sponsored a variety of culture field trips national and internationally.
Mrs. O’Neal loves dance and had formally trained in ballet for twenty years in the National Peruvian Ballet School and Modern Dance in Caracas Venezuela.
