My name is Mrs. Bethany Barra. I've been a teacher in East Bridgewater since 2009. I started as a third grade teacher at the Central School, did some time in Kindergarten, and in 2013 I moved up to teach fourth grade at GWMMS. I absolutely LOVE teaching, this town, and the people in it.
I attended Bridgewater State where I received two Bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. While at BSC (as it was called back then!), I was involved with a few organizations that helped shape the teacher and person I am today. I was also lucky enough to have met my husband in college!
In 2013, I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from American International College. I took classes during the school year right here at GWMMS! I continue to take my knowledge from those classes and implement them in our classroom.
On January 13, 2014 our first child was born. Bennett Christopher is a happy, energetic, and smart little guy who surprises us every day. A year later, we welcomed our second child. Landon William was born on September 21, 2015 and loves to smile, play, and is the feistiest little boy. We are so blessed.
On a personal note I enjoy the beach, the Bruins and Patriots, and spending time with family and friends. During the summer, my relatives like to go camping in New Hampshire and visit our family's house down the Cape. Mr. Barra and I are always looking for a new restaurant to try, and we LOVE watching the Food Network. If I had to pick a meal to eat for the rest of my life, it would be sushi. I drink tea every day because I'm not a huge fan of coffee, but I do like Restoration Coffee (especially the "Paige" ♡).
I look forward to hearing more about you in the upcoming months! What would you like me to know about you?
