Our Glorious Lives

Poetry by Eleanor Byers.

This chapbook, printed on a letterpress in 2000, contains twenty-four poems by Ms. Beyer. The first East Point West Press book not written by the printer, this volume explores travel, ageing and loss through the voice of an authentic Pacific Northwest poet. (Out of Print)

From a Hilltop in Granada, Spain

The man goes to stand in front of the clothes

line where red peppers hang

like long crimson pennants, twirling and drying

into sun-withered fire to lend heat

to the sauce of Andaluz sausages. And he

folds his stout arms over his chest. He's a

sultan, a king, a posessor of wealth.

What beauties! these peppers. What treasures!
