Dear Scholars and Family Members,
I hope that you had a wonderful time at the All Male College Fair on Friday. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to College Application Week
What is College Application Week?
College Application Week is a national initiative established to ensure that every graduating high school senior has the opportunity to apply to at least one post secondary institution.
Special focus is placed on assisting students who would be the first in their families to attend college, low-income students and students who may not have otherwise considered applying to college.
Eagle Harlem's Goal for College Application Week
- Every graduating senior completes their CUNY application this week
- Every graduating senior applies to at least one SUNY College this week
- Every graduating senior completes who is a viable candidate for SUNY Fredonia, applies to and participates in Eagle Harlem's on the spot admission event on thursday, October 24 and WALKS AWAY WITH AN ADMISSION IN HAND.
- Remove financial barriers in applying to college; we will provide CUNY and SUNY Fee waivers to all eligible students. If paying the application fee poses a hardship to your family, please reach out to either me or Mr. Rembert
- Helping every student find affordable college options

- Don't sleep on community colleges
- Finding Affordability in your own backyard
- SAT/Test Optional schools
How can families help?
- Be sounding boards to what your scholar is looking for in college
- Sit with your scholar, run the net price calculator and help them come up with affordable options
- Let them read their college essays to you.
- Provide Encouragement!! There is a college for every student
