March 20, 2020
Greetings Eagle Harlem Family,
I hope this letter finds you all safe and healthy. I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate and make sense of this very difficult and uncertain time; but as Eagles, we will SOAR above the storm. The Eagle Harlem staff has been working diligently to ensure a strong start for your son's remote learning classes on Monday, March 23rd. As we navigate this unchartered territory it is important that we take a moment to stop and breath and understand that this is new for all of us. It is our hope to continue to engage your sons through remote learning and to support you through this time. We have provided a checklist to help ensure you have access to the most updated information from the school, instructional materials and resources from your son’s educators.
Students will be able to access all learning via Google Classrooms. Please make sure they log in to their Eagle Harlem email addresses to accept the invite to their classes. They can use a cell phone, iPad, or Laptop. Unfortunately, we no longer have any school-based technology available. Please fill out the NYCDOE technology survey posted on the school website at www.eagleharlem.org TODAY. As soon as we find out when the DOE will be delivering devices, we will let you know. Please email me at lwashington@eagleharlem.org to be placed on a waitlist for technology.
We will continue to hand out packets and report cards to 7th through 11th grade families ONLY on Monday, March 23rd- Friday, March 27th from 8:30am-1:30pm.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. If we do not have the answer, we will reach out to the appropriate parties for guidance. We will get through this by working together.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and let’s stay connected.
For the Children,
Principal Washington (I.A.)

STUDENT AND FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES/ CHECKLIST
Visit the DOE Remote Learning Tech Support site for families.
The popular video chatting app has been approved by the DOE, more info here.
As you may know, the DOE provides the Microsoft Office suite to students and their families for free. To download the software, students and families accessed Microsoft’s hosted site https://studentoffice.net, but as of June 17, 2019, it is hosted by the DOE.
The site’s new domain name is https://nycstudents.net. A redirect has be DIIT has been set up, so that visitors to the old domain will be sent automatically to the new domain. This change should not significantly impact students and families, however, it’s helpful for you to know this has happened, should a problem occur.
The portal will also have a slightly new look and feel, so returning users may notice that things look a little different. However, the portal’s functionality will be the same.
For help with student information contact IDMTeam@schools.nyc.gov. You can find help for Microsoft Office at https://support.office.com/ or contact support on the web at Microsoft Online Support or by calling 877-696-7786.
