2025-26Â Projects
Students took their Wonders unit 1 knowledge from the classroom and materials created in the classroom and created weekly slides that focused on the Wonders topics. Students at the same time were exposed and practiced new Google Slide and additional tech skills in the lab each week working on this project. Â
Part 1
Students became owners of a Market or Service. The students had to write key information about their market or service and figure out the items or service they will be selling with costs. They had to create a brochure within Google Slides using a template to include all the information on their market or service they gathered and wrote within the classroom. The point of the brochure is to inform others and persuade people to come to their store or use their service. Â
Part 2
The students had to design and create a 3D model of their market that went along with their digital brochure. Â
Students learned map skills and some key vocabulary associated with a map such as a compass and key within the classroom. The students had to take their map skills to drag and drop items on a digital map in the lab. The students had to come up with a complet sentence that tells the reader if they were starting at the fire station how to get to another location on the map. Students had to review some of their Google Slide additional skills like inserting images and changing the background color of a slide to finish their project.Â
The goal is to have students working on math skills while using the computer. The students worked on reviewing their base ten skills at the same time in helping their computer skills. They worked on in reviewing and learning new skills within Google Slides and typing complete sentences. This mini project incorporated critical thinking skills as well when it came to the sentences the students had to create. (We worked on this for only two class periods. They did what they could do in just the two classes.)
Students have been learning about how items have changed over the years within the classroom. Students were given an item and how it looked a long time ago and had to write about it. Then also had to find a picture of the item but what it looks like or is now called today. They also had to do a writing piece on that item as well. The students took all their writing and has to type it up within a Google Slides file. They learned how to copy and paste items. They reviewed many skills in Google Slides they have been learning this year within this project.
