Expose the students to nursery rhymes and allow them the opportunity to personalize it while maintaining the entertainment (humor) of the work to be displayed in a neat, computer generated final product with additional mixed-media artwork.
Students created a persuasive writing piece that promotes their store within the community. Students had to effectively describe what they sell and do at their store. Students typed up their persuasive writing within Google slides, record their voice reading it to be used as part of their store display using a three fold cardboard, and learned/used some Google slide features to add detail to their slides.
The goal is to have students working on math skills while using the computer. The students worked on reviewing their base ten skills at the same time in helping their computer skills. They worked on in reviewing and learning new skills within Google Slides and typing complete sentences. This mini project incorporated critical thinking skills as well when it came to the sentences the students had to create.

This project was a combination of multiple mini projects students worked on where they reviewed key math skills from the classroom and incorporated writing. Students had to work with math skills such as base ten, telling time, and shapes. The goal was to have them include the math concept and an image within their writing. Students had to currently use the computer to type complete sentences on each of their slides. At the end, they prepared their final work with transitions to make a cool final creative digital piece.
The students all completed a project that incorporated reading, writing, science, and even a bit of social studies during the month of May, which aligned with the Unit 5 topic in Wonders was “Figure It Out”.
We read many stories in the reading text, identified the characters who were “figuring something out”, and came up with a way(s) to cross a river to get them what they needed or wanted. The students created some physical ways to cross a river. The students also did a digital extendtion project to showcase the different ways to cross a river. Within the end digital product, the students inserted images of the ways they felt was best to cross the river. Next to image, the students had to insert text boxes to write complete sentences that describe the way to cross the river by describing what they see in the picture. They were also able to review suvh skills as making typing skills, changing the font/color of text, adding images, adding text boxes, and changing the background color of a slide.
