A quick and easy way to find lost files
Spotlight search is built into the operating system of the Macintosh. It's a very powerful and useful way for searching for just about any file or folder and most any data on your Mac. It is especially useful when you can't recall where you might have placed a particular file or folder or what you might have named it. Spotlight can look into a file for the key words you type to search for. If you've forgotten the name, just type in a few words you know and up pops all files, pdfs, contacts, folders, emails, book marks, and web pages that contain the name...not just within the text of the file name but buried within the document itself.Â
You can access spotlight one of two ways:
Click on the Magnifying Glass icon in the upper right corner of your Mac screen, or
Press the command + spacebar to activate spotlight
Now type in the key words for whatever it is you're searching for.
Use the cursor keys to navigate within the list to select the item it's found and press the enter/return key to open it immediately.
NOTE: this will also work if you have a bluetooth connected keyboard connected to your iPad
