Mrs. Mohlis

            HI!  My name is Suzanne Mohlis and I am one of the Preschool teachers here at Dike Elementary in the Dike New Hartford School System.  I have been teaching at Dike New Hartford for 25 years, 2 in kindergarten and 23 in preschool.  I graduated from New Hartford High School and the University of Northern Iowa.  I have degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Reading.  I absolutely love my job and the love the children we get to teach each year.  

My husband and I live between New Hartford and Dike on a farm with cows and chickens and cats and a dog named Hank.  We have seven grown children.  Amanda works at VGM and she and her husband live in New Hartford with their little boys Griffin, Lincoln and Camden.  Mike works for Beacon, and lives with his family in Portland, Oregon-5 year old twin girls, Josie and Brooklyn, are toooo far away!  Anna is the elementary art teacher and her husband is a junior high social studies teacher both in South Tama and they have a little girl named Violet.   Abbie is the kindergarten teacher in New Hartford.   Ashley and her little boy, Alex, live in Decorah and she is a lab-technician for Gunderson Lutheran Hospital.  Kate is an RN and lives in Waverly and her fiance Zack works for The Western Home and Jake is an engineer in Des Moines and his fiance Shelby is in vet school at ISU.  

I like to read and we like to travel.  We have a cabin in Northern Minnesota where we fish, swim, ski and relax.  When our kids were young, my sister and I took our eight kids on a motorhome/camping trip every summer for a couple of weeks for about 10 years.  It was great fun and we got to see lots of very cool places in our country.   We have been to 46/50 states with California and Florida to get to yet.  (-:       And our plan is that our kids all take us to Alaska and Hawaii someday soon!

I absolutely love my job and am so thankful that I get to help little ones grow and learn.
