My name is Erika Lamp. I am the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher at Dike New-Hartford. My classroom is in Dike Elementary, and I visit all the preschool classrooms every week. The 2019-20 school year was my first year at DNH. Before coming to the ECSE classroom I was an Early Childhood Special Educator at Central Rivers AEA, providing early intervention with infants and toddlers with disabilities for over 10 years.
I live in Grundy Center with my daughter Tallula, who is in high school, and my son Julian, who is in high school. We have a dog, Goldie and a cat named Milo. I spend most of my free time attending all the games, recitals, and activities my children are in.
My goal as the ECSE teacher is for every student to leave my classroom ready for Kindergarten. We learn daily routines, communication and social/emotional skills, gross and fine motor skills, academics, and independence. My teaching is tailored to each student's individual needs, so things can look a little unique in my classroom... different is good!
I have had a passion for young children with special needs for many years. I believe that every student deserves a place to learn, be themselves, have friends, and be a part of a loving community. I truly love what I do, and I am grateful to be a part of the Dike New-Hartford School District.
