After successfully defending your thesis and securing a "pass" verdict from the panel, your focus should shift to completing the final deliverables required by the department. You must complete the final deliverables to secure a grade for THS-ST3.
For an updated list of tasks and their deadlines for the term, please see Current THSST Schedule. Please make sure to plan for the requirements accordingly
Once you've signaled to the thesis coordinator that your adviser has endorsed your group for thesis defense, a Google Drive folder will be send to your group. This is where you'll upload all your deliverables.
Make sure that actual files are uploaded in the drive. Links or text files containing the links to your own repository (or github, shared drive) are NOT allowed.
For templates or forms, please check the Downloads section of this website. You need to use your DLSU Google account to be able to access this.
In the Google Drive folder, you'll find a Google Document that serves as your checklist in completing the requirements. You may use this checklist when requesting your adviser to review and endorse your documents.
As for the content, please follow these directions:
In the root folder shared to you, make sure you have the following files:
README.txt – This should contain the (1) installation instructions, (2) Personal Vitae (with contact info of proponents), and (3) Adviser’s name and email address
FILES.txt – This should contain the listing of files and folders, as well as a short description for each. Kindly make sure to list folders / subfolders under each folder in the file.
Document Sharing Policy.pdf – This is the accomplished form. In general, the 2nd and last items are marked yes (while the others are no). However, discuss this with your thesis adviser to properly understand how to answer this.
Departmental Record of Contribution.pdf - This is your accomplished form.
Create the following subfolders and populate it with the pertinent files:
SOURCE – This is the folder containing your source codes. You may include subfolders here, specifically pertaining to data used in your testing (like log files, reference documents, models, etc.)
APP – This is the folder containing other installers for external applications that your program needs
DOC – This is the folder of the documents. Make sure to have the following subfolders:
Main – Have subfolders PDF and EDITABLE. The subfolder PDF contains the main document, including the appendices, and TurnItIn report. The EDITABLE subfolder contains the doc or LaTeX copy of the main document, including the appendices. The Research Ethics form may be included in these files / folders too. Alternatively, you can create a subfolder under Main for these.
Manuals – Have subfolders PDF and EDITABLE. In each of the subfolders, place your technical manual and user manual.
Others – Have subfolders PDF and EDITABLE. For each subfolder, place your Technical/Conference paper/s and brochure.
PRESENTATION and VIDEO – Place all your thesis slides (editable) and/or thesis defense videos, as well as the video presentation for demo or exhibit.
HTML - Place files you need for your page in this folder. At the very least, you should have 1 html file containing the following:
Heading: Department of Software Technology
Undergraduate Thesis Program
Thesis Title
Thesis Proponents (with picture and contact info) and Thesis Adviser
Thesis Abstract
Document Outline (i.e. Table of Contents and links to the documents)
[If applicable] Research Overview
[If applicable] System Overview
[If applicable] Major Modules and System Features
ENDORSEMENT – This folder should contain the following files:
Adviser Recommendation Sheet.pdf – Accomplished and signed
Panels Approval Sheet.pdf – Accomplished and signed
College Acceptance Sheet.pdf – Filled up with the pertinent info (like thesis title, etc.) but unsigned by the chair and dean.
Endorsement of Adviser for Final Deliverables – This can be a screenshot, email, or signed document (PNG or PDF) of the adviser’s endorsement of your final deliverables. The endorsement should indicate the listing of what was checked (e.g. video, tech papers, brochure, etc.) and last statement stating that these are deemed complete and endorsed for final submission.
[optional] Revisions Approval Form – Signed, in the approved columns
Do not submit the filled up informed consent forms your participants filled up to your panelists. When you pass THSST3, hand them over to your adviser for the purpose of using the forms for future research.
Make sure to double check your documents and files for signatures and that they are proper filled out. Not following instructions or submitting incomplete requirements may result in a deduction to your final THSST3 grade regardless of the endorsement of your adviser. Incomplete requirements will not be accepted.
Optional : Apply for record of invention from DIPO (only if thesis is a new invention)
Regarding the brochure:
The brochure may be used for exhibits in the future, provide a layman's explanation (use images) followed by a technical explanation
For an example, please see http://www.bu.edu/eng/research/research-brochures/ for samples (but fewer pages)
Regarding the video presentation:
Like the brochure, the video presentation may also be used for exhibits.
Please use common video formats (e.g. MP4, MOV, AVI) and be conscious of the size of the file (the smaller the better)
