COLLEGE ADVISORY FOR SENIORS
All seniors are enrolled in a once-a-week College Advisory course that meets during the 7th period. The College Counselors, Mrs. Lopez & Mrs. Sciacca, are the instructors. Starting the first full week of school, a different aspect of the college application and admission process will be covered each week. Students will be provided essential and timely information and instructions about selecting colleges and completing applications.
INDIVIDUAL COLLEGE COUNSELING APPOINTMENTS
Seniors are strongly encouraged to make an individual appointment with their college counselors to discuss college plans. (Mrs. Lopez typically works with students whose last names start with A-K; Mrs. Sciacca works with L-Z.)
SENIOR PARENT COLLEGE INFORMATION NIGHT
Parents of 4-year college-bound seniors should plan on attending this annual event offered in mid-September. The College Counselors will provide a thorough presentation on the college admission and application process and advice on how to best support your son.
COLLEGE REP VISITS
Seniors are encouraged to sign up for College Rep Visits to learn more about their college options. Often the representative visiting is also responsible for reviewing applications from our students. It is a valuable opportunity to meet these representatives, hear their presentations, and be able to ask questions. The visits are hosted primarily in the months of August through October. Students can view a calendar of visits and sign up/register in SCOIR. A weekly list and reminders are posted in Schoology.
