When is Set-up for STEM EXPO 2026?
Set-up will be that Friday, March 6th at Forest Road School from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. This will be the only time available for set-up. You will choose your table, set up your project and pick up your shirt. Please bring your project, display board, (tri-fold display boards are available at most office type stores or craft stores) and any supplies that you want to show everyone. Do not set up your exhibit by a reserved "Electricity" spot unless you are on the list.
What happens on Saturday at the EXPO?
An EXPO "official" will visit you and your exhibit. Be prepared to share your project and answer questions regarding your exhibit. Projects are not "judged" and the official's role is to give you an opportunity to show what you have learned. You are expected to remain at your project for your assigned half hour increment so the official can visit you.
EXPO 2026 ends at Noon and all projects must be removed from the gym at that time. Please do not remove an exhibits early as it is very distracting for those students who are still presenting to officials.
What should be on my display board?
Your project must include the exhibitor's names, school and grades. Please also include your: Title (Big Question), the process that you went through (design process, experiment process, exploration process, scientific significance for tech project or maker project), pictures that were taken to help showcase your project or anything else that you would like for people to see as they walk along and observe your project. The purpose of the display board is for you to showcase your hard work and explain your process even if you aren't there to answer questions.
Who sponsors the EXPO?
The Science Center Parent Enrichment Council funds the annual Science EXPO.
When will I receive my EXPO shirt?
You will receive your shirt at the set-up on Friday night. Please wear your shirt to STEM EXPO 2026. This will identify you as an exhibitor. T-shirts are compliments of the Science Center Parent Enrichment Council. Be sure to register by Feb 17th to be sure to have your t-shirt size.
How do I get in?
Enter at the east door at Forest Road School, Door 1. The parking lot is at the east side of the building.
How do I know what time my project will be judged?
You will receive an email with your assigned time and place. It is important that your email is entered correctly on the Registration Form.
Is it very crowded?
It can get crowded depending on the number of participants. We will make changes to the setup and schedule if necessary.
What if I get hungry? Will there be concessions?
Yes. There will be a table selling soda, juice and small snacks.
