Roberto Baldoni has been Full Professor in Computer Science at the Faculty of Engineering University of Rome La Sapienza from 2002 to 2021 where he has been professor of secure and dependable distributed systems. Other positions at Sapienza Univ.:
(From March 2012 to December 2017) Director and founder of Sapienza Research Center for Cyber Intelligence and Information Security ( https://www.cis.uniroma1.it). A multidisciplinary research center for developing new knowledge around themes like intelligence over the web, cyber security and smart systems.

(From June 2014 to December 2017) Director of the Cyber Security National Laboratory. This new organization joins 260 Faculties of 40 major Italian Universities and 5 research centers (https://www.consorzio-cini.it/index.php/it/lab-cyber-security ).
(From February 2017 to December 2017) Coordinator of the “National Committee for Cybersecurity Research”. The committee includes the President of the CNR and the President of CINI joining the public and the academic Italian research.
(From January 2015 to December 2017) CoFounder and Steering Committee Chair of the Italian Conference on Cybersecurity (ITASEC) https://www.itasec.it
Co-founder in 2017, together with Prof. Camil Demetrescu, of the Cyberchallenge.it program (https://cyberchallenge.it), currently at the 5th edition. Cyberchallange.it program is the largest "Capture the flag" initiative in the EU, involving more than 40 Italian universities and more than 5000 students aged 16-23.

(From January 2015 to December 2017) Co-Chair of U.S.-Italy Joint Commission Meeting on Science and Technology Cooperation working group on cyber security (co-chair Adam Sedgewick – US-NIST).
Roberto Baldoni has been visiting researcher at INRIA (FR), Cornell University (US), EPFL (CH) and Southampton University (UK). He regularly participates and chairs committees of premiership international conferences and workshops. He chaired OPODIS 2012, ACM DEBS 2008, OPODIS2013. From Jan. 1st 2013 to 31 dec 2015th, At the national level he has been the founder of the Italian Conference on Cybersecurity (ITASEC). He has been for many years member of the editorial boad of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems. He has been Dean of the School of Engineering in Computer Science at Sapienza University (2011-2014).
Roberto Baldoni recently led the public-private working groups developing the "Cybersecurity National Framework" and the "National Cybersecurity Essentials" (in italian). Roberto Baldoni invented and co-edited the Italian White Book on Cybersecurity (in Italian).
He was the founder of MIDdleware LABoratory (MIDLAB) and he has been PI of many national and international research projects for an overall funding of over 20 Millions euros.
