Natal, the Sun's Bride, is the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, a northeastern state in Brazil. It is the Brazilian state capital that lies the closest to Europe: it is only 6.5 hours away from Lisbon, with direct flights. It is known as one of the most attractive cities in Brazil, with to its sand dunes, year-round nice weather, and historical monuments.

Natal has always been an island of tranquility in Brazil: the sunny beaches attracts tourists from all around the country. Being a very touristic town, it boasts many hotels, restaurants and every kind of tourism-related business. Moreover, the natalenses have a very warm way of treating visitors.

Last but not least, Natal is one the main sites in Brazil for doing research in Logic. In fact, Logic is a major research area in three different departments at UFRN (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte): Mathematics, Computer Science and Philosophy. And while it may not yet be the biggest logical research center in Brazil, it is for sure the most pleasant and beautiful one.
