Hi! Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in DePere and graduated from West DePere High School. After graduation, I served four and a half years in the United States Air Force as an Arab Linguist (I did not fly planes). I lived in Monterey, California, Texas, and spent two years in England. In 1996, I met my husband, Shawn, who is also a USAF veteran, and we moved back to Green Bay to live close to family. I have two children; my son, Devin, and my daughter, Peyton. I also have a Husky named Shiba. I love to draw, play volleyball, hang out at Packers training camp, and spend time with my family up north on Ranch Lake.
In 2004, I graduated from St. Norbert College with a Bachelor's degree in Education and Psychology. In 2009, I earned my Master's Degree from UWGB in Applied Leadership. In addition, I have earned a Professional Development Certificate from LaVerne University in Computer Applications for the Classroom, which has brought me to where I am in my career today. In 2021, I received an honorable mention Computer Science Teaching Excellence Award.
This is my 19th year teaching. I previously taught 7th grade Social Studies & Writing before teaching Digital Literacy. I have always had a passion for technology and am quick to jump on the latest gadgets. Many students have an innate love for technology, but all bring different background knowledge to the table. I am excited to be your facilitator in combining all of our talents and skills together to make us all successful. My hope is that throughout the quarter, you will learn valuable skills to help you in your learning as well as the tools to help you manage your life in the future.
