Choir at DMS is the great opportunity for students to learn about music, develop a better singing voice, make lasting friendships, increase teamwork skills, and be a part of successful organization. Singing is a skill that students will use for the rest of their lives.

Our choirs learn, work, and sing together. We develop a pride in our group so you never have to be nervous about singing in our group. Joining our group associates you with friends that you will have forever.
Play Sports and Sing In Chorus
Choir class meets during the school day. You do not have to miss practice to be in chorus!
Solos and Other Opportunities
Solos and Other Opportunities
Students in choir get the opportunity to sing solos and develop individual skills. However, we will NEVER make you perform alone if you are uncomfortable with singing by yourself.
Singing is Fun!
Singing is Fun!
Singing is a great class to change the pace of your school day. In chorus we sing many different styles of songs. We attend honor choirs, perform concerts and musicals. In the spring we participate in large and small group contests. Students are encouraged to get involved in many areas of our choral program.
Learn to Read Music
Learn to Read Music
DMS choirs are not just about performance. Students learn how to read and sing music off the page. Choir members learn to interpret musical symbols, and develop decoding skills. Students will have exposure to many forms of music and develop the skills to read and perform a wide variety of music

Our chorus program has developed a tradition of performing a musical every winter. If you love to be in the spotlight the musical may be for you.

Students of all singing abilities can join DMS Chorus. Weather you are just beginning or have been in several musicals, there is a place for you in the choir. As long as you do your best in rehearsal every day, you will be successful.
