School Records Boys and Girls in Meters and Yards
NOTE: There are four bottom tabs in the document see the different records.
This site was developed by Kirby Henderson, the CHS Head Track Coach from 1999-2023, after assisting in '97 and '98. He did research in order to have the most accurate information possible for the track records. He converted many of the times to accumulate the All-Time Top 10 list in meters. There are challenges, of course. For example the boys 100 meter record of 10.86 was confirmed to be electronically timed, but at the time wind gauges were not in operation. Chris Gibson's time of 11.13 was wind allowable. Therefore, he recognized them both as school records, one prior to wind readings, one after.
School records can only stand if they meet the allowable wind reading, which is a +2.0 or lower. This is also the standard for a state record to be set. A long-standing expectation for the CHS track program has been that one must complete the season in order to keep a school record, class record, Top 5, Top 10, or Top 20 mark.
