Grid movement
In games featuring this mechanic, players move pawns along a grid generally making up the board. In Hive, players build the board as they play the game by placing their game pieces beside another piece already placed. Players can then move these pieces along the board as they try and surround their opponent's Queen Bee. Movement along this area is the only way pieces can move around the board.
