Area Control

Players seek to control an area using a token to represent their ownership. The player that guards that area the best is often rewarded for doing so. For example, in Carcassonne, you place a follower onto a feature such as a road or a city. No one else can add their follower to a claimed feature, so it belongs to the player that claimed it. Once they hold on to the area long enough for the feature to be completed, they earn points for it.
