World Music Drumming

World Music Drumming is a dynamic group experience required for all 5th graders and available as an elective for students in grades 6th through 8th. In this course, students explore rhythms and musical traditions from around the world by playing a variety of percussion instruments in a collaborative drum circle setting. They will learn both composed pieces and have opportunities to create their own music, fostering creativity, listening skills, and teamwork. 

Rehearsals take place once a week for 40 minutes, and the ensemble typically performs in three annual concerts: Veterans Day in November, the Winter Concert in December, and the Spring Concert in late May or June.
