Literacy
Literacy
In literacy, students will be reading fiction literature this week. While reading the anchor text, they will be working on analyzing how setting, conflicts, and characterization contribute to the plot in a literary text. As they move into reading a nonfiction paired text, they will explain how the text structure of chronology contributes to the understanding of a text.
Math
Math
Students will complete Lesson 5, reviewing and practicing multiple strategies to divide multi-digit numbers. They will take the lesson quiz on Wednesday. For the remainder of the week, students will focus on completing and reviewing a study guide to prepare for the Unit 1 test.
Writing
Students will continue to work on analyzing writing exemplars to learn more about the writing process using T.I.D.E. as an organizational structure when writing expository and narrative pieces. Additionally, they will work on using a scoring guide to help them learn to evaluate their own work. Spelling this week will focus on r-controlled vowels. Grammar lessons will focus on combining sentences. Students will have a spelling test and grammar quiz on Friday.
