The Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP) [1] organized the 7th Philippine Computing Science Congress (PCSC 2007) and the 1st CSP National Workshop on ICT Education at the Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center, Boracay, Philippines, on February 23-24, 2007. The CSP held this national conference and workshop to enable educators, researchers, and ICT professionals and students to share their work in computing, computer science, computer engineering, computational science, and information and communications technology (ICT). This conference and workshop was attended by participants from different colleges and universities from the Philippines and invited speakers from other countries.
With the theme “ICT for the Environment and the Life Sciences” PCSC2007 featured special lectures and talks by prominent researchers and educators in the field of information and communications technology (including computing, computer science, computer engineering, computational science, and related disciplines). It also featured contributed research papers on computing and ICT Education.
CSP organized ICTED 2007 in honor of Dr. Pablo Manalastas on the occasion of his 60th birthday and in recognition to his invaluable contributions to ICT education.
