My name is Bobbie Marroquin, and I am your child’s first grade teacher. I have been teaching 1st grade here at Wm R Davie since 2009. I have also taught 2nd grade at Cooleemee Elementary and before that I taught in Iredell County Schools. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year .

I love my job and continue to do what I can to further my education to be a better teacher. I feel obtaining higher education will better prepare me to teach your child with the ever changing curriculum and diversity of the classrooms. I have obtained my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.

I plan for this to be an exciting year with a lot of fun activities to make learning more enjoyable for your child. If you ever feel you need to talk or ask me about anything you don’t understand my door is always open. I look forward to getting to know all my students and their parents. I also encourage parents volunteering in my classroom. With your support and cooperation I know your child will succeed in the 1st grade.

Click on my name above to email me with any questions or concerns or message me through Class Dojo!! Always happy to help!!

Decodable Passages--In this document, it has stories that are decodable based on a phonics skill. In addition to the passages, it has comprehension questions to help assess students on their understanding of the story. **Tip: If your teacher has asked you to work on a specific phonic skill, then you can look in the table of contents to see the story you could have your student read at home. For example, Student A needs extra practice in Short U. In the table of contents, I see that Bud the Pup is the story I can have Student A read.**
