Prologue

The Reference Model for SSH Data Infrastructures is discussed in thee parts:

• Prologue,

• The Reference Model and

• Wrapping up.

This part, Prologue, provides:

• an introduction that motivates this work,

• relevant background information about reference models and data infrastructures for the social sciences and humanities and

• the approach that was taken for developing the reference model.

The Reference Model will describe SSH Data Infrastructures from different viewpoints and the last part will describe the conclusions and further work that follows from developing this reference model.
