We offer developmental screenings and assessments. Whenever possible, your child will be observed in his/her day care, nursery school, Head Start or Readiness Program. Alternative strategies will be suggested by a certified professional. Screenings and assessments are done on week days during school hours throughout the school year. The Preschool Team consists of special education-early childhood teachers, speech pathologists, and school psychologist. When needed a school nurse, physical therapist and/or occupational therapist are available to the team.
There are specialized programs for children three years of age to kindergarten who qualify for services. The services provided may include: school based special education programming; speech/language therapy; consultative and support services to the child's community program, and parent education.

Connecticut families with children 0-5 years old can use Sparkler’s mobile app for free to check in on their children’s development, learn through play, and tap into a network of support from 211 Child Development and Help Me Grow. Sparkler is available in English and Spanish. It offers families tools to monitor children’s social-emotional, cognitive, communication, and physical development, including the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, as well as suggestions for play-based learning activities to support children’s early learning and development.
