Below are some of the book report choice options. Students should aim to complete a report every 3 weeks or so. With the amount of reading we do in class, plus 20 min a night, there should really be no problem getting the books read. Students may choose out of the options below. They may do each choice one time per trimester (unless they are reading more books for extra credit). The requirements for the reports are at the bottom of this page.
This one is typed and has a very specific rubric. You can turn this one in to have corrected by me and then you can fix your work for points back. Please see the requirements form linked to the website.

Use the rubric to pregrade yourself. If you turn in the ICPC before its due date, I will correct it and hand it back so you can make corrections to get the highest points possible.

The conferences will be with the teacher discussing books that are appropriate to your reading level. You will need to schedule with me in advance and I will keep track on my calendar. Book talks will be before school (around 8:20) or at the beginning of lunch recess while I'm on supervision. When you come to a talk you must be prepared to discuss the book you read. You need to be able to talk about the plot, characters, setting & the genre. Remember the who? what? when? where? why? At every conference/talk you MUST bring the book with you.
Book critiques will be done by completing a Google form or you may choose to do a written one. If you do not have computer access, you may schedule time to come to school to do it, or we may use free time during class at some point. Remember, with this doc if you fill out part and go back to it later, it may not be filled in still. Try to dedicate a chunk of time to get it done in one sitting.

Students will complete a book trailer using Animoto. The trailer should be 1- 3 minutes and should include book cover, author, characters, settings, a brief grabbing summary WITHOUT giving out every detail or the end, as well as pictures. It should end with a brief bibliography.
Go to “Google Slide Presentation”, click on the arrow to the right and choose “from a template”. Use the “Book Report” template and fill out the required information asked for on the slide. Be creative, and be sure to check your spelling, punctuation, capital letters, and grammar, please.
