Apps for Speech and Language

Have an iPhone or iPad? Here are some fun app suggestions to practice speech and language skills:

Speech Sounds

Articulation Station- you can purchase the main app, then add only the sounds you need to work on. You can record yourself and see if you produced your sound correctly!

Artik Pix- same as Articulation Station

Phonics Genius-Word lists galore! Any combination of sounds you can think of is in this app! Working on the /r/ sound? You can get lists of "ar" words, "er" words, "our" words, "ear" words.....to practice each distinct /r/ separately. Your speech pathologist can guide you to which phoneme combinations you should be practicing.

Social Language

Hidden Curriculum on the Go for Kids- Have difficulty figuring out the "hidden curriculum" of life? This app gives you a daily tip on various social situations.

Quick Cues- Gives a script for various social situations including answering the phone and asking for help.

Conversation Builder Teen- Record yourself giving appropriate responses in conversation and hear it played back! (Also good for fluency goals)

Expressive Language

Sentence Builder Teen- choose words and phrases to create appropriate sentences
