About Me

The Basics

I am an encore/elective teacher at Emerson Middle School. 

I teach Broadcasting, Crack the Code, Multimedia Magic, and Technology 6 in room 222.

I have been working at Emerson since 2007. 

I was a special needs assistant for 3 years and have been teaching in the computer lab since August of 2010. 

I currently host Craft Club. We meet on Tuesdays in room 222. Join us!

Fun Fact

I grew up in Park Ridge! 

I attended Franklin, Lincoln "Junior High", and Maine South High School. 

Some of my current coworkers were my former teachers! 

Growing up in Park Ridge, I participated in Park Ridge Girls Softball, Ice Skating at Oakton Ice Arena, and Girl Scouts.

I've lived in Chicago since 2009 but my parents still live in Park Ridge so between work and visiting family I spend a lot of time here. If you see me around town say hi!

Education & Endorsements

In August of 2007, I graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University. 

I graduated with a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Concordia University Chicago. in May of 2013.

I hold middle school endorsements in language arts and social science as well as a K-12 technology specialist endorsement.

I am a Level 1 and Level 2 Google Certified Teacher. 

I'm also proud to be a WeVideo Ambasador.

Interests

If you've glanced at this website or have been in my classroom, you already know that I love owls!

I enjoy all kinds of arts and crafts and hands on projects.

On the weekends, you can find me shopping at flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales. I love bargains and I'm always on the lookout for antiques and materials for DIY projects.

I also like attending storytelling events, comedy shows, concerts, art galleries, and museums.

I love taking pictures and videos. Video editing is one of my favorite hobbies.
