Oral Motor Activities

Oral Motor refers to the use and function of the muscles of the lips and face. This includes the tongue, jaw, lips, teeth, etc.

Checkout this handy handout from Super Duper on how to address oral motor at home & ideas for fun activities that you can do to help increase your child's awareness and control of his/her oral articulators.

Try it at home!

    • Each day when brushing your teeth imitate silly faces in the mirror. Talk about what you are placing and where you are placing it.
    • Blow bubbles (stick your lips out and blow the air!)
    • Use a straw to drink - this helps develop important mouth muscles and coordination.
