To help our classroom run smoothly and make each day a successful one, here are a few classroom reminders:
1. Transportation Changes
If your child will be going home a different way than usual, please send a dated and signed note with them. An email or a phone call to the office works, too! This helps ensure every child gets where they need to be safely.
2. Recess
First graders love being outside! We head outdoors for a 30 minute recess each day, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. During the winter months, please label coats, hats, gloves, and snow pants, as these items can easily get misplaced. We only stay inside if it is raining or the temperature (including wind chill) is below zero. Otherwise, we'll be outside enjoying the fresh air!
3. Visiting Our Classroom
I love having families involved! If you are volunteering or visiting our classroom, please stop by the office first to sign in and pick up a visitor's badge. To help our day run smoothly, please be sure your visit has been scheduled in advance. If you are helping in the classroom or attending a classroom celebration, I kindly ask that younger siblings stay home.
4. Snack & Water Bottle
Please send a small, healthy, peanut-free snack each day for your child. A labeled water bottle is also a wonderful addition and helps keep everyone hydrated throughout the day.
5. Toys from Home
To avoid lost or broken treasures, I ask that toys stay at home unless I have invited students to bring something special for a classroom activity or during your child's Cast Member Spotlight Week.
Thank you for your partnership, flexibility, and support. Working together, we'll help your child learn, grow, and build their own great big beautiful tomorrow!Â
