At Home Routines

What Should Be in My Child's Backpack?

There are some materials students will need at home and at school. Please make sure your child takes responsibility for making sure these items come back and forth. Here is a list:

  • Take Home Folder (empty the "keep at home side" each night)

  • Library books

  • CHARGED iPad

  • iPad charger

  • Water bottle (optional)

Homework

Each Tuesday your child will receive a new homework packet. The homework packet is due each Friday. It includes a cover page with a checklist of what to complete each week, as well as announcements. There will be one page of ELA work and two pages of math. One page of math will be a spiral review of previous skills. The second page will contain skills from our current math unit. Most of the activities we assign should be things your child can do independently because they will be practicing skills they have already learned in Second Grade. If something is too hard or confusing, we have told them to do their best and then talk to us at school. We will work with them when we see them and help them.

You may choose to split up the homework during the week in a way that works best for your child.
