Policies and rules:
★ A helpful, friendly attitude is essential. The library rules that apply to all Canyon’s students apply to student volunteers. SHELVING BOOKS IS A REQUIRED DAILY DUTY.
★ Volunteers sign in daily, and tuck their belongings under the counter, not in the Librarians' office.
★ Training must be completed with a librarian before volunteers may work in the library.
★ All student information must be kept confidential. Failure to follow this rule may result in the volunteer being asked not to return.
★ Student volunteers are not allowed inside the back offices, break room, or staff restroom. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THE LIBRARY PHONE.
★ Be conscientious! While on duty students are expected to be working, not completing homework at the Library counter, browsing on their phones, or standing around visiting. If you have finished your assigned tasks, ask what you can do next to help. CJSF credit will not be signed off if this rule is disregarded.
Non-volunteer students are not allowed behind the Circulation counter under any circumstances.
