About Mrs. Pathan

Hello and welcome to Room 9. My name is Mrs. Pathan. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. 

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and worked as a planning and design engineer until the birth of my daughter. During her early school years, I was an active volunteer at her school, which sparked my interest in the field of education. I did my Teaching Credential, Masters in Arts with emphasis on reading, and Reading Specialist Credential from Santa Clara University. I have been teaching kindergarten for twenty four years!

In order to form a teacher-parent relationship, I feel it is important for you to know my educational philosophy:

•  I believe children deserve respect.

•  I believe children should feel safe and secure in a risk-free learning environment.

•  I want your child to enjoy the learning process and I want to encourage all of my students to succeed in their attempts to learn.

• I believe modeling is a powerful way to influence a child’s learning. Please model the love of learning at home by reading to and in front of your child.
