I grew up here in Sunnyvale. I attended CMS and Fremont High School. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara in 1993 and my Teaching Credential from CSU Northridge in 1995. I began teaching in elementary school and then switched to middle school when my husband's job had us move in the middle of the school year. There aren't many teaching positions open in January and the job I found was in 7th grade. Although I originally planned to return to elementary teaching at the end of that year (I missed my 2nd graders!), I found that I couldn't tear myself away from the middle school kids and all of the enthusiastic energy they bring to their learning. I decided that I really enjoyed teaching science and went on to complete my Subject Matter Authorization to teach single subject science to middle school students.

This is my 16th year teaching at CMS, and my 24th year teaching. I really enjoy working with middle school students and look forward to showing them that SCIENCE IS FUN.

I have been married to my husband, Ryan, since 1996 and we have two sons: Bailey and Jared. Bailey graduated from HHS in 2017. Jared graduated high school this past spring is starting college at West Valley this year.

Some things that I like: COFFEE!, The Peelers Band, 80's music, movies, my iPhone, Pokemon Go, monkeys, Harry Potter, silly jokes, genuine smiles, the colors purple & blue, Mythbusters, peppermint stick ice cream, fireworks, playing board games, musical theater, Psycho Donuts, iced tea, roller coasters, Halloween, spending time with my family, the internet, The Little Mermaid, college basketball, giraffes, FLUXX card game (I blame Mrs. Trice for introducing me to it!), browsing in bookstores, Divergent, scrapbooking, Beauty and the Beast, the smell of the ocean, The Hunger Games, flip flops, CSI, daisies, Build-a-Bears, Friends, reading mystery & YA novels, Facetime, San Francisco Giants and cherry diet coke. I also have an obsession with Mickey Mouse!
